Airbus A330-300 of Garuda Indonesia

Garuda Indonesia, Indonesian flag carrier decided taking 14 Airbus A330neo instead of seven conventional Airbus A330-300 cancelled by the carrier.

The decision confirms the previously disclosed intention of the airline to opt for the type of change the engine.

Airbus had revealed an order for 14 aircraft A330-900neo for an undisclosed customer, earlier this year.

The airframer says Garuda will start receiving the A330neo in 2019. It is confirmed that the agreement "replaces and extends" its previous A330-300 order.

Garuda CEO, Arif Wibowo said the A330neo, which will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, "represents a more efficient future" for the airline.

Currently Garuda Indonesia operating nine A330-200s and 15 Airbus A330-300s, while there is another two A330-300s in the list order. Whilst, Airbus A330neo also known as A330-900 installed with new engine that promise fuel efficiency and performance.
