Finnair's A350-900 XWB is Underway

17 December 2014. Another Airbus A350-900 XWB has entered final assembly line, this will be Finnair's first delivery.

This is the first of nineteen A350-900 XWB Finnair's order. Finnair is the first European airline to fly Airbus A350-900 XWB alongside Qatar Airways and Vietnam Airlines.

The aircraft has entered fuselage joining section process after that wing-fuselage joining progress is the next phase and cabin installation afterwards.

After the aircraft has completed, engine testing and system testing will follow flight testing and painting as well.

The delivery of Finnair's A350 XWB is expected in third quarter of 2015.

Didier Evrard, A350's programme manager says there are twelve customer aircraft in progress in Toulouse. He adds that the production rate of A350 XWB reach three aircraft per month. Airbus expects the production rate can reach ten aircraft per month within next four years.

Airbus A350-900 Extra Widebody, XWB stands for claims 25 percent less fuel consumption with other aircraft in the same class as well as emission reduction. Airbus prepares A350-1000, the stretched variant of original A350 XWB which will fly in 2016.
