Qatar Airways Releases A350-900 XWB's First Route
Qatar Airways unveils its first commercial flight with new Airbus A350-900 XWB.
In January 2015 Qatar Airways to operate A350-900 XWB on Doha to Frankfurt route. So be prepared to all aircraft enthusiasts to taste new extra widebody aircraft.
Spokeperson of Qatar Airways stated that they chose Frankfurt as first destination since the route is quite busy and will be good combination with A350's passengers capacity.
The aircraft will be classified in 36 seats business class and 247 seats in economy class. The first A350 is -900 variant and Qatar is on list order to receive even larger -1000 series which allowed to carry more passengers.
Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of Qatar Airways says the A350 XWB will be the game changer in aviation industry. He added that Qatar Airways to realize the average age fleet of five years, so they order more Boeing and Airbus aircraft to replace old fleet and keep company in competition track.
Qatar Airways has another 80 A350-900 XWBs on list order and expected to receive additional eight A350-900 XWBs in 2015.
In other hand, there are another gulf air's route to be released soon. They plan to open Doha-Djibouti by end this October and Doha-Asmara in Eritrea in December 2014.
